Servowatch successfully delivers IPMS for second Royal Thai Navy OPV

Servowatch, a leading supplier of advanced integrated ship control systems, is proud to announce that earlier in 2020 they successfully completed Sea Acceptance Trials (SAT) with Bangkok Dock Co., (1957) Ltd. in Thailand on the latest Pattani-class offshore patrol vessel (OPV) built for the Royal Thai Navy (RTN).

This ship, based on the same BAE Systems design as the three (3) Amazonas-class vessels operated by Brazil and the five (5) River-class Batch 2 being operated by the UK Royal Navy, is the second OPV built for the Thai Navy. All ten (10) OPV’s incorporate Servowatch’s IPMS capability.

Servowatch Systems’ scope of supply for the Royal Thai Navy OPV’s comprises an IPMS control and monitoring package for the vessels’ propulsion, power generation, HVAC, fire-detection, tank gauging systems and auxiliaries’ services.

“With military vessels increasing in complexity and simultaneously reducing crew sizes, reliable and accurate integration is key to ensuring the functionality of critical components. Servowatch has introduced its IPMS with multiple layers of redundancy, flexibility and modular architecture; interconnecting external third-party systems has never been so easy. It reduces platform cost, integration time and commissioning, whilst retaining the survivability and power of the original Servowatch product,” says: Andrew Burns, Sales and Marketing Director, Servowatch.

“We are very much looking forward to continuing our work with Bangkok Dock’s teams of experts to enhance the capability, service and support that the company delivers to the Royal Thai Navy’s specified requirements“, he adds.

Bangkok Dock’s Project Director, Prakong Huckuntod said, “This is the second time we have worked with Servowatch while building vessels for the Royal Thai Navy. Their IPMS was delivered on time, on budget and commissioned with the minimal of fuss and we are looking forward too many years of trouble-free operations.  We are completely satisfied with the support and assistance that Servowatch’s provided.”
